Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology has achieved the exemplary feat of being ranked in the ranking band of 101-151 and Galgotias is the only college in Uttar Pradesh amongst private and government engineering colleges to be ranked by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2018 in this rank band.
The ranking also makes Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology No 1 in Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University which has more than 800 affilated colleges.
Union Human Resource and Development Minister Prakash Javadekar has recently released the NIRF Rankings 2018 at the Vigyan Bhagwan, New Delhi. Apart from the government institutions, a large number of private higher education institutions have joined the rankings this year who were not part of the process earlier.

This year, NIRF list has nine categories — law, architecture and medical has been added to the existing list of universities, engineering colleges, pharmacy and best colleges. The NIRF also added several new criteria such as total budget and its utilization, combined metric for quality of publications, university examinations and how many graduating students admitted into top institution apart from the earlier used parameters like teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practices, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and perception this year.
National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development three years ago. This framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions.
